ABOUT ME

Since I was young, I’ve been fascinated by people and the natural world. As a child, I would use a camcorder to film my family, and I would go everywhere with a camera hanging around my neck. I loved writing, too, and I’d hole up in my bedroom for hours, creating new worlds. Many years later, I still love to film, take photos, and write, and I continue to love learning about humans and nature.

In college, I studied world religions and media studies, and when I graduated, I completed an apprenticeship with documentary filmmaker and media educator, Roberto Arévalo. Roberto’s work taught me about listening deeply, and I’ve carried that with me into my own work.

I love being outside and traveling slowly and have gone for two long walks with my friend Ged McFaul. In 2015, we walked from Cardiff to London via Gloucester and the Thames Path, and in 2018, we walked around Scotland, stopping in each of the country’s seven cities. You can read more about our walks here. Most recently, I hiked through the Lake District in northern England with my friend, photographer Jamie Barnes.

I also enjoy public speaking and have delivered talks in Australia, the UK, and the US.
